Four Steps to Engagement

Questions for Further Study 

  • Think about the idea that more can be accomplished through a team effort than an individual effort.  Is that true? Give an example of an endeavor that requires teamwork. 
  • What happens when a team is not on the same page? What happens when even one person undermines the efforts of the team? 
  • Think about the big C church. Why has God designed it in such a way that each of us has a purpose and a role to play? 
  • Can someone regularly attend or give money to a church without being part of the ‘body of Christ’? If so, what would that look like?  What does it look like when someone is an active member of the ‘body of Christ’? 
  • What are some ways we can go about discovering what God has gifted us to do? 
  • The four steps to engagement are often reversed. Why must it start with our union & proximity to Christ?  

Personal Reflection: 

  • Think about your engagement with God’s church. Does anything need to change? 
  • How close are you to Jesus? How often are you reading His Word and spending time in personal worship and prayer?  
  • Do feel as if you have a clear calling in which you are living? Write down your purpose and pray over it asking God to guide in you ways you can live it out for His glory and the health of His Church.
