• Why do you follow Jesus?
Read Mark 8:27-38 and discuss:
• What does it mean that Jesus is Savior? What does it mean that
Jesus is Lord? How does knowing Jesus as both Savior and Lord
impact the way you live your daily life?
• Peter tried to correct Jesus’ plan because it didn’t align with his
expectations. Are there areas in your life where you struggle to accept
God’s plan? Explain.
• Jesus says that being His disciple means denying ourselves, taking
up our cross, and following Him (Mark 8:34). What does this look like
practically in your life?
• How do you distinguish between being a fan of Jesus versus being a
follower? What does true discipleship require?

to being a committed follower. Consider what it means to be an
apprentice of Christ in your daily life.
• Identify personal desires, habits, or ambitions that might be
competing with God’s will. Commit to surrendering those to Him,
remembering that discipleship requires sacrifice.
