QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY
Read Hebrews 11:1-2, 6 and discuss:
• What are some things that you looked forward to and were so convinced they were going to happen that you took action?
• Has there ever been a time that you felt God assure you that something was going to happen and it did? If so, share the story.
• Discuss the definition of faith proposed in the message. Anything you would add to it or delete from it?
• Where does faith begin? Look up Hebrews 12:2 and Romans 10:17. Do these verses bring clarity? What are some of the implications?
• Is faith rational or irrational? Explain your answer.
• What is the difference between understanding and conviction?
• Propose some obstacles to faith. How can they hinder?
• Why does James say in 2:14-17 call a faith that doesn’t result in action dead?
• Share an area in which God has been challenging you to exercise faith or a recent experience in which you stepped out in faith.
• What impacted you most from this message?
APPLICATION
Spend some time in stillness before God thinking about these questions:
• Is there an area in which God is calling me to step out in faith? Is anything holding me back?
• How has God been increasing my faith or how has my faith been suppressed?
• Who needs to either hear my story of God’s faithfulness or who can I go on record with about what God is calling me to?
