Questions for Further Study

  • The military trains every soldier meticulously to use their weapon properly. Think about why that is and try to list all of the reasons for that training.
  • The Bible is our ‘sword’ or weapon against the enemy. What does that imply when it comes to fighting our spiritual enemy?  How did Jesus use it in Matthew 4:1-11?
  • Read Hebrews 4:12. How does the Bible become a scalpel bringing health and healing to the heart of the one who believes?
  • Why is it sometimes difficult to read the Bible?  What can you do to make it easier?
  • Read Matthew 7:24. What is your next step in the process of building your life on the Rock which is the Word of God?

Personal Reflection:

  • When it comes to the regular reading of the Bible, how would you rate yourself?
  • How can you grow in your study and understanding of the Bible?
    • Regular Reading? Life application? Memorization?
  • Write down your plan to make God’s Word a regular part of your life.
  • Ask God for guidance in this process and think about ways to incorporate His Word into your worship, prayers, and everyday battles.
