Read Revelation 17:1-6 & 1 John 2:15-17 and discuss:

• Why do you think John marveled with admiration at what he saw? Why did the angel rebuke him?
• Why is it important to understand what God hates?
• Reflect on the lusts of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and pride in possessions. Are there any areas in your life where these temptations are waging war?

• In what ways is worldliness an attitude? How is that reflected in actions? How does worldliness affect a Christian’s response to God? How does it influence a believer’s ability to see and follow God’s will? • What does faithfulness look like practically?

Read Revelation 19:1-9 and discuss:

• Contrast this picture with the picture in 17:1-6. What has changed? • What does it mean that we are the bride of Christ?
• How is Christ preparing His Bride for the wedding?

PERSONAL REFLECTION

• What is the world offering me that is enticing me away from Christ? • Am I living as if I believe “the world is passing away”?
