QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY
• What about Heaven excites you the most? What about Heaven do you understand least? What are some false ideas people have about Heaven?
Read Revelation 21 and discuss:
• What is significant about God “making all things new”? What are some things you would like to see made?
• Look up Exodus 29:45-46. Why was this promise important to the Israelites? How would your perspective change if you could tangibly experience God’s presence with all of your senses?
• What longings do you have that have yet to be fulfilled? What do you cry about now? As you read Revelation 21:4-7, what stands out to you? Why do you think we will be fully satisfied in Heaven?
• Discuss the questions you have always wondered about Heaven. What does the Bible say about those questions?
• How does the fact that everyone won’t be in Heaven (Revelation 21:8) change the way you live?
• Look back at Revelation 2 and 3 to see how the promises given by Christ to His bride, the Church, on earth are fulfilled in these verses. Why does it matter that God is faithful?
• How did the message challenge you personally?
PERSONAL REFLECTION AND APPLICATION
Various images throughout Revelation speak of the church (all of those saved by grace through faith in Christ) as a bride. We’re told that God is going to dwell intimately with His people.
• If this is our destiny, how should we be preparing ourselves for it?
• How can I cultivate intimacy with God in a society so devoted to pleasure, superficiality, and over-activity?
• What am I doing now to cultivate my desire for Him? What is the best way to increase our joy in God’s promises?
