WE’RE ALL SHEPHERDS

December 17, 2023 / Keith Waggoner / Luke 2:8-20

BIG POINT: God uses more than to share

The shepherds journey:

1.

2.

3.

Jesus came to…

4.

NOTES:

QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

Read Luke 2:8-20 and discuss:

• What is the most important thing the church should be known for and why?
• Why were shepherds considered unclean in 1st-century Judea? What would be the cultural and relational implications?
• Discuss “the sign” given by the angel to the shepherds. Why was this
so significant?
• Have you ever been able to relate to the shepherds, thanks to failure? You’ve messed up? You’re “unclean”? How does the gift of Immanuel, God with us, bring hope? Do you struggle coming to Him? What is your sign that Jesus will save and forgive? How can you share that with someone else?
• Read Luke 4:18-19, John 10:10, Mark 10:45, and Luke 19:10. Why is it important that we understand and articulate why Jesus came? Which ones of these hit home most for you?
• Why does a testimony matter? What is your testimony?
• How does appreciating and sharing what God has done in your life change your perspective?

PERSONAL APPLICATION

• Clarify your testimony. Include these two things: “Before Christ, I was…” and “After Christ, I am…”
• Go be a shepherd and share your story of what you have seen and experienced.
