QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

  • How do you feel when you get the short end of the deal? How do respond? How do you WANT to respond?
  • How do you feel when the script is reversed and you get a really good deal that maybe you don’t even deserve? What’s your response then?
  • When someone goes back on their word, fails to hold up their end of the bargain, breaks an agreement, etc., what should be done in response?
  • God has made a covenant or agreement with us – in essence, we are called by God to live holy, righteous, and moral lives but a failure to do so results in death. However, when we sinned, it was who offered His only Son to die on our behalf offering us freedom through the simple act of faith, trust, and relationship with Him. Is this a good deal? Explain.
  • What does it mean to you that Jesus is both High Priest and King?
  • As Christians, we understand that what Jesus has done for us is so good! Why do some people still feel like God is being unfair to them?
  • What can we do to help people understand the true love and grace of God?

PERSONAL REFLECTION AND APPLICATION

  • Read 2 Corinthians 5:21, consider the work of Jesus on your behalf, and be thankful.
  • Review the application portion of the sermon guide.
    • Is there anything from your past you need to surrender?
    • What do you need to trust God with today?
    • What unclaimed access is God offering you that you haven’t yet received?
    • Based on what God has done, how can you move forward in confidence?
