QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY
Read Joshua 6:27:
• Put yourself in the story. How would you be feeling after a victory like Jericho? Share a time in which you saw God do something amazing. How would you describe your faith in that season?
Read Joshua 7:1-12:
• Why do you think God commanded what He did in Joshua 6:18-19?
• Why would God allow the sin of one person to impact the momentum of someone else? Does this happen today? Give examples.
• What is the difference between godly grief and worldly grief
(2 Corinthians 7:10)? How does the Holy Spirit convict of sin?
• Discuss the process of repentance in dealing with secret sins. What does it look like to mourn, call out and deal with a secret sin? Have you ever had to do this in your life? What happened?
• Discuss the four admissions associated with coming clean. Which do you find most difficult and why?
• How have you found the BIG POINT to be true? What advice would you give someone who is living a double life?
• What hope does God offer sinners?
• What impacted you most from the message?
PERSONAL REFLECTION & APPLICATION
If there are secret sins in your “tent”:
• Humbly confess your need to God, have faith in His goodness and surrender.
• Go to another Christ follower you trust, come clean, and ask for their prayers and accountability.
• Ask God for help in knowing how to continue to surrender this area to the lordship of Jesus.
Begin each day praying these four truths:
• I am needy. Get specific and verbalize the needs.
• I trust that You are enough. Why do you trust Him? How does Scripture anchor your trust?
• I am confident in Your ability to be my Lord. What is the basis of your faith? Praise Him for these reasons.
• I willfully submit to Your leading today. Pray through your calendar and the temptations you are currently facing.
