QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

Read Revelation 4 & 5 and discuss:

• What is the closest thing to this description of heaven that you have personally experienced?
• Why do you think the throne of God is emphasized? What does it imply?

• Why is the description of worship in heaven so different from how we worship here and now? How should it set the standard for worship?
• Discuss the difference between “forms of worship” and the “heart of worship”. Why do too many of us get focused on the forms rather than the true intent of worship?

• How does God’s sovereignty (His ultimate control) impact the way you live? Why does it sometimes seem like He’s not in control? How does perspective inform our faith?
• Why is Jesus the only one worthy to open the scroll? Why is He worthy of our worship?

PERSONAL REFLECTION & APPLICATION

• What is it in my life that is getting the passion that belongs to Jesus? What captures my imagination and celebration?
• There has to be some correspondence between how I worship with the worship in heaven. What needs to change in my approach to worship of Christ?

• Spend time with Jesus this week intentionally telling Him why you worship Him.
