Read Matthew 2:1-12 and discuss:
• What are some things you crave every once in a while? Any foods, activities, or anything else?
• Share some common things most people are looking for in life. Why are these so important?
• How did God use astrology to accomplish His plan at Jesus’ birth? How was this different from an endorsement of astrology?
• What are some signs God has used to lead you to Christ? How can we tell a sign is from God?
• How does Scripture serve as a “map”? Share how God has used Scripture to reveal Christ to you.
• Discuss the different responses of the characters found in this story. Can you find modern similarities?
• Do you really think Jesus is the answer to the deepest longings of people? Explain why or why not.
• What stands out to you most from this passage?
