QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

Read 2 Peter 1:3-11:

• What are excuses that we sometimes make to justify staying the same?

• What have you learned about change in general (not just in a spiritual sense)? What are some areas in which you have seen major changes?

• Read Philippians 2:12-13. Compare it with what you read in 2 Peter 1. What is God’s part? What is our part?

• What does God change instantaneously? How does He change us gradually? Discuss the process of change.

• Why is it important to have the “want to”?

• How could the benefits Peter mentions (FAVE) increase your motivation? What are ways we can examine our faith in light of this?

• What part of this passage or the message especially stands out to you?

PERSONAL REFLECTION

• Realization: Is there a next step to which God is calling me? Identify it.

• Motivation: If applicable, what is holding me back?

• Information: What knowledge do I need to take this step? Where do I need to go or who can help me find answers?

• Application: Am I living out and practicing what I know?
