What do Judges 4;5 teach us?

QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

Discuss Judges 4;5:

• What are unusual things in this story that stand out to you? What are some takeaways?
• Recount times God has used you in surprising ways. What did you learn? How is it encouraging and humbling to know that God works through flawed and unlikely people?

• Have you ever not done something that you felt called to do (read Judges 5:16-17)? What kept you from responding? Why is so hard to escape doing nothing?
• When you read Judges 5:23, there was a price to be paid for doing nothing. What are some prices that we pay when we don’t respond to what God is calling us to?

• What does the cross and the Second Coming of Christ teach us about justice? Read Romans 12:19. What does this mean? How can we live in faith that justice will be served?
• Which part of the message impacted you most? What is God calling you to as a next step?

PERSONAL APPLICATION & REFLECTION

Are there any areas in which you need to leave justice to God, and instead love, forgive, bless, and pray for your enemies? Is there something you are holding on to that you need to release to God? How will you use the cross to free you to do this?
