QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

Read Matthew 28 and discuss:

• What promises, situations, or people in your life inspire hope in you? Explain why.
• Put yourself in the story: How would you have felt Saturday morning if you were a disciple? What about Sunday morning when you heard from the women that Christ was alive? What would be some potential, initial doubts?

• What stands out to you most in this account of the resurrection? Why?
• Read closely and think about the last five verses in the chapter. Does anything jump out at you? What are the implications?
• Why is it important that we not merely celebrate the resurrection as a past event, but also recognize its present reality?
• Which of the four main points from the message is most significant to you? How does it inform and produce hope?
• Has the resurrection of Christ changed the way you daily live your life? Explain.

PERSONAL APPLICATION

Write the words “Jesus is alive and present” on a Post-It note and stick it somewhere you can’t miss. Every time you see it, pause and think about its relevance to whatever you are currently facing. Take the opportunity to thank God that you’re not alone and live like you believe it’s true!
