QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY
Read Revelation 6:9-11& 8:1-5 and discuss:
• The power of these prayers seems to be related to the sacrificial witness of their lives. Do our prayers come out of a sacrificial life or do we come asking God only to throw us life-preservers to rescue us from our own foolishness?
• What are some prayers for justice you have prayed? What do you
do when it seems like God isn’t addressing what you think He should address?
Reference Revelation 8:6-9:21 and discuss:
• Why do God’s people suffer? How can suffering be both used for refining and for warning?
• Discuss the different ways people respond to God’s warnings.
• What is the purpose of the seven trumpet judgments?
• Describe your view of spiritual warfare. Is it good vs. evil or the batte of two equals (God and Satan)? Does this teach something different?
• Discuss how Satan treats sinners and how Jesus responded to sinners. Read John 10:10 for perspective.
Reference Revelation 10 & 11 and discuss:
• What is the importance of a witness? What is the heart behind a Christian’s witness? How can we be effective witnesses?
PERSONAL REFLECTION AND APPLICATION
• Set aside a day to consider and pray for all those in today’s world who are suffering because of evil. Use this prayer time to ask for God’s grace and comfort for those who are in pain and hope for those who feel hopeless.
• Thank God for His ultimate victory over evil that is promised in Revelation.
• Ask God to lead you to practical opportunities to be a witness.
