December 31, 2023 / Matt Ritchey / Psalms 34:8-10 God’s objectives for 2024: 1. He’s going to remain 2. He’s going to receive 3. He’s going to lead us in the 4. He’s going to for us 5. He’s going to be there in the 6. He’s going to hold 7. He’s going to BIG POINT: The best thing anyone can do this year is to as preeiminent in 2024 NOTES: QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY Read Luke 2:8-20 and discuss: • What is your experience when it comes to making New Year’s resolutions? Good? Bad? • How do you feel when you fail? When you succeed? • Look over the outline from the message. Which of God’s objectives stands out to you the most and why? • How do these objectives of God encourage you? What would you add to the list? • Whether we acknowledge this fact or not, God is preeminent – how should that fact affect our perspective on life in general? • Is there an area in your life you are trying to control on your own? What would that look like if you allowed God to be in charge? • Why is giving God ‘control’ and trusting Him with the outcome so hard to do sometimes? • What is your next step when it comes to giving God control this year? PERSONAL REFLECTION & APPLICATION • How do you feel when God’s plan doesn’t align with what you want? Have you talked to Him about it? It’s ok to vent to God. Talk to Him about it. • Think about the idea that it’s possible that God’s objectives are better for us even if it doesn’t feel that way.Talk to Him about it. • Instead of making a list of things you want to do this year, what if you asked God what He wanted to do in your life this year? Talk to Him about it.
