QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

Read Genesis 15 and discuss:

• What stands out to you? What promises did God make to Abram? How did God show Abram that he would fulfill His promise? What part did Abram play in that process?
• Abram asked God two questions that were both the same. When Abram asked God his questions what was he really asking?
• Have you been a party to any covenants? If so, what were they? What significant things were done to portray the solemnity of the ceremony? In what ways have ceremonies or covenants played a role in your life?
• Pastor Jason talked about what faith was. How would you define faith? Is it words, actions, or maybe both? Like Pastor Jason’s grandmother, have you struggled at times with knowing your faith is yours based on Jesus alone and not on anything you might do?
• What comfort do you find in knowing that it rests solely on God and not on you? In what ways does knowing this and applying it to your life make a difference tomorrow?
• What was the most significant part of the message for you?
