• What are some reasons people lack maturity?
Do a little digging to see examples in Scripture.
• Read 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 what is happening with the church in Corinth? What can we learn from this scripture? How does it apply to us?
• Read Ephesians 4:14-15. What are the dangers of not knowing the Word of God? Can I as a Christian be persuaded to believe something that is not true? How would this affect your spiritual life and your salvation?
• 1 John 2:19. Do you know someone in this position? How does it affect your faith? Is it possible to restore a person like this?
Now read Hebrews 5:11-14 and 6:1-10.
• What are some things you can do to avoid falling away? How often do you check your spiritual life? Is your relationship with God in danger?
• How are your foundations based on the doctrines of Christ? How hungry are you for growth and maturity?
• Do you find encouragement in the words of the writer of Hebrews? Are you demonstrating diligence in your pursuit of God?
• What makes God’s promises faithful and trustworthy? What assurance do you have in Jesus?
• What was the biggest takeaway from the message?
PERSONAL REFLECTION AND APPLICATION
• Am I showing growth and maturity in my walk with Christ?
• Intentionally plan to spend more time in God’s word, allowing your faith to stand strong in the work of Jesus and the promises of God. • Trust the work God is doing in your life through Jesus.
