QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

• When you think of the idea of sacrifice, what comes to mind?
• Describe a time when someone (family, friend, etc.) sacrificed for your good. How did that make you feel?
• What are some small ways we sacrifice something valuable for a greater good?
• Think about the sacrifice that God made through His son Jesus, on our behalf. What does that tell you about God?
• Read Romans 12:1-2. When it comes to our worship of God, what does it mean to present ourselves as a ‘living sacrifice’?
• Jesus said we must take up our cross. Paul said we must be crucified with Christ. Obviously, they are speaking metaphorically so what did they mean? What does that look like in your life?
• Read Romans 12:9-25 and pick five actions listed there that are the mark of a true follower of Christ. Think about what you would need to sacrifice to accomplish each one.
• What was the biggest takeaway from the message?

PERSONAL REFLECTION

• Sacrifice is something that we naturally resist. However, think about the times you were self-centered and chose the easy path over the greater good. What is the result of that way of living?
