A Holy Home Remodel

September 8, 2024 / Roe Dudley / Colossians 3:12-17

Four ways Jesus remodels our home:

  1. He changes

  2. He changes

  3. He changes

  4. He changes

BIG POINT: When we follow Jesus,

NOTES:

QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

Read Colossians 3:12-17 and discuss:

• What are some obvious changes that you have seen in yourself and how you treat others since you started to follow Jesus? (3:12-14)
• How could creating an environment of kindness and forgiveness
influence the atmosphere of your home and shape your family? How do you think an environment of negativity and resentment shapes a family’s character?

• Think about a time you didn’t have peace in your heart about a decision or action. How did you know? (3:15)
• Is there someone who you have not made peace within the church? It is important to take the lead and set the example in your home regarding making peace with the church. Read the following verses and summarize the next steps in each passage. What does Scripture say should be your next move? (Read Romans 12:17-19; Luke 17:1-5; Matthew 18:15-20)
• When you began to follow Jesus, what are some of the surprising things that followed you home that were not there before? (3:16)
• Consider your reasons and motivations behind your actions. In what
ways has Jesus impacted the “why” beind what you do? (3:17)
• What was the biggest takeaway from the message?

PERSONAL REFLECTION AND APPLICATION

• If you could improve one thing about where you live physically, what would it be? Why?
• If you knew Jesus would partner with you to improve one thing within your family, what would you choose?
• Write down one or two practical steps you can take this week to begin to see change.
• Who can you have keep you accountable? Reach out to a friend and let them know what you are doing this week. Ask them to check in to ensure you are following through on your commitment.
