Adam’s Family

December 8, 2024 / Keith Waggoner / Matthew 1:1-17

BIG POINT: Your family tree will

There are two family trees:

1. We are
2. We can be

BIG QUESTION: Have you been ?

NOTES:

QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY
• Share what you know about your family tree. Are there any unique
people in your ancestry?
• What are some genetic realities that have been passed down in your
family?
• If you could, what would you change about your family?
Read Romans 5:12-19:
• What is the root cause of death?
• How and why does Adam’s sin impact all of us? Discuss the phrase
“and he died” in Adam’s genealogy (Genesis 5).
• What fears or anticipation do you have about death? What are the
diiferent aspects to death?
• Why was our only hope what Christ did on the cross?
• Explain how Christ’s work on the cross allowed us to become part of
God’s family.
• What does it mean to be born again? Look up the word “regeneration”
if you don’t know the definition and discuss why this is the only way
we can become part of Christ’s family.
• Read 2 Corinthians 5:17. If we are born again into God’s family what
will change? Why?
• What was the biggest takeaway from the message?

PERSONAL APPLICATION AND REFLECTION
• Read and reflect upon Romans 5:12-19 this week.
• Does your life reflect the first Adam or the last Adam, Jesus Christ?
