The Solution

March 23, 2025 / Keith Waggoner / Mark 15:21-39

The death of Jesus on the cross did four things:

  1. The cross
  2. The cross
  3. The cross
  4. The cross

NOTES:

QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY

• How have you seen sin create distance between you and God or

others in your life?

Read Mark 15:21-39

• What are some immediate observations from the scene at the cross?

• Describe the different people at the cross and their response to

Jesus?

• How does a proper understanding of sin help us better grasp the

significance of what Christ did on the cross?

• Define sin and address the common misperceptions of it being

merely “mistakes” or “bad behavior”. How does God view it? Explain

your answers.

• How does the cross prove God’s love for us? Why does this impact

our confidence even in suffering or seasons of doubt?

• Read Mark 10:45. How did Jesus practically do this on the cross?

What are the implications?

• If sin is a debt you cannot pay, how does understanding Jesus as

your “surety” change your view of His sacrifice?

• Why should believers be motivated by love, not shame, when

confessing sin? How does this change your approach to dealing with

sin in your life?

• What impacted you most from the message?

QUESTIONS FOR PERSONAL REFLECTION & APPLICATION

Reflect on the condition of your heart.

• What steps can you take to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the

sacrifice Jesus made on the cross?

• How can you encourage someone in your life who is struggling to

believe that Jesus’ death is enough to cover their sins?

• What practical ways can you reflect Jesus’ love and sacrifice in your

relationships this week?
