Three things we can observe from Daniel 2:
1. The of the (Nebuchadnezzar)
• The primary resolution: I’m going to
2. The of the (Daniel)
• The primary resolution: I’m going to
3. The of
BIG POINT: God’s kingdom will
NOTES:
QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY
• What’s the weirdest or most memorable dream you’ve ever had?
Read Daniel 2 and discuss:
• What do Nebuchadnezzar’s actions reveal about his character and
fears?
• Where in your life are you most tempted to rely on your own strength,
resources, or plans? How do you typically respond when something
threatens your sense of control?
• Contrast Daniel’s reaction to disturbing news with the king’s reaction
to a disturbing dream. Why do you think Daniel didn’t panic, even
though his life was at risk?
• What does “prudence and discretion” look like in your current
situation? Where do you need to slow down and respond with
wisdom?
• Who do you turn to when you’re in a crisis? Are you inviting others
into your prayer life?
• What do the parts of the statue represent? What do they tell us about
the nature of human power and kingdoms? What does the stone “not
cut by human hands” symbolize, and what’s the significance of that?
• How can you tell whether the kingdom you are building is yours or
God’s?
PERSONAL REFLECTION AND APPLICATION
• Whose kingdom are you building? This week, identify one area where
you’ve been focused on your own legacy instead of God’s glory—and
surrender it.
• Where is your confidence? Commit to pray before you panic. Make it
your first response, not your last resort.
• Are you ready for the coming Kingdom? How does your answer
inform your next step?
